Bike Van Buren XXXII

AUGUST 18-19, 2018

Enjoy a fun-filled weekend while exploring all of the historic Villages of Van Buren. This is a casual, family-oriented bicycle ride through Van Buren County, Iowa. You'll enjoy some of the finest hospitality around with numerous food/drink stops approximately 8-12 miles apart. Routes will begin and end both days in Keosauqua. This year, we will have 2 designated route options on Saturday (66 miles & 42 mile) and 1 route on Sunday (42 miles) but of course, you're welcome to "create your own" route as well.

New, this year, we've incorporated some of our interesting historic sites into the routes. You'll get free tours of the Pearson House Museum in Keosauqua, which was a safe stop for escaping slaves during the Civil War, Stockport Depot & the Freedom Rock and Bonaparte Pottery, Iowa's only standing 1865 pottery.

Free SAG support is provided to registered riders. Free bottled ice water, provided by Dutchman's Store in Cantril, is available on all support vehicles for riders throughout the weekend.  Bickels Cycling and Fitness will be en route with riders both days to provide technical support, if needed.

Route maps are provided during registration, they are not released early. You can enjoy a 1 or 2 day ride with a discounted registration fee for single day riders. Children also have a discounted rate if they are riding their own bicycle, children in buggies are at no charge.

Again this year, riders will have a chance to win $100 cash, cool prizes and gift cards from Bickels Cycling & Fitness by playing our FUN POKER RUN. Riders will draw cards at designated hospitality stops and try to build the best hand of poker. New this year, the final stop will allow for a Wild Card draw that can replace any one you an extra chance to win!

Walk-up registrations are welcome.
