Mar 1st - Mar 3rd » Musical Comedy "Catch Me If You Can"

The Van Buren Community Players will be performing "Catch Me If You Can". Based on the hit film and the incredible true story, this musical comedy is about the life of Frank Abagnale, who, before his 19th birthday, successfully performed cons worth millions of dollars by posing as a Pan American World Airways pilot, a Georgia doctor, and a Louisiana parish prosecutor.

There will be a matinee on Sunday, March. 3rd at 2:00pm.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for age 18 and younger.
Sunday only for seniors 65 and older will be $8 for the matinee. 

Tickets available Feb. 4th at First Iowa State Bank, Keosauqua. Tickets will also be available night of the show at the doors if the show is not sold out.

The Villages Folk School specializes in providing learning experiences in traditional arts and skills while drawing upon the uniqueness of each of the eleven historic Villages of Van Buren County Iowa. Classes are held in peaceful rural settings so students can return to a simpler time and witness the importance of the artisan in village-life. Pre-registration is required for classes.

Come out to the Birmingham Homecoming Fish & Chicken Fry for a great meal. 5-7pm. Your choice of fish fillets or chicken strips. Includes: mac & cheese, baked beans, coleslaw, tea, coffee, lemonade and variety of desserts with soft serve vanilla ice cream. $9 a meal, 6 & under are free. 

All proceeds will help support the Birmingham Homecoming events.

Join the Van Buren County Historical Society for their 1st monthly dinner meeting of the year. Everyone is welcome to join! Reservations are needed by March 14th for a $10 home-cooked meal.

Don't miss the special program following dinner, "Dressing the Victorian Woman" by Becky Grier of Kalona. Mid-1800's portrayal of all the clothing worn to complete her ensemble.

Mar 27th » Prisoners Of War In Iowa

The Keosauqua Public Library and the Van Buren County Genealogical Society are hosting Iowa Author and speaker Linda McCann.

Linda will focus her presentation around POWs in Iowa. “Iowa had about 25,000 German, Italian, and Japanese prisoners of war in the state from 1943 to 1946. There were two main camp; Algona and Clarinda, and about 17 branch camps in the state. The branch camps were short-term work projects usually during the summer and fall, on a specific project. Waverly and Charles City had branch camps in the northeast. Muscatine, West Liberty, Clinton
were among the camps in the southeast."

There is no cost and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
