Bike Van Buren XXXIII
August 17-18, 2019
Enjoy a fun-filled weekend while exploring all of the Villages of Van Buren as well as several of our historic sites during this casual, family-oriented bicycle ride through Van Buren County, Iowa.
You'll enjoy some of the finest hospitality around with numerous food/drink stops approximately 8-12 miles apart.
Routes will begin and end both days in Keosauqua.
This year, we will have 2 designated route options on Saturday (58 miles & 43 mile) and 1 route on Sunday (50 miles) but of course, you're welcome to "create your own" route as well.
Free SAG support is provided to registered riders. Free bottled ice water is available on all support vehicles for riders throughout the weekend.
Bickels Cycling and Fitness will be en route with riders both days to provide technical support, if needed.
Route maps are provided during registration, they are not released early.
You can enjoy a 1 or 2 day ride with a discounted registration fee for single day riders. Children also have a discounted rate if they are riding their own bicycle, children in buggies are at no charge.
Riders will have a chance to win $100 cash, cool prizes and gift cards from Bickels Cycling & Fitness by playing our FUN POKER RUN. Riders will draw cards at designated hospitality stops and try to build the best hand of poker.
Walk-up registrations are welcome!

Lunch will be available both days for an additional $8 for adults & $5 for children under 14. After July 26, lunch prices will increase to $10 adults, $7 children.
Saturday lunch will be a Build-Your-Own Deli Sandwich, Sides, Desserts and Drinks at the A/C Stockport Legion Hall.
Sunday lunch will be at the county’s newest restaurant, Fields’ Hunny Hole in Milton. Loose Meat Sandwich (similar to a Maid-rite©), Potato Salad, Baked Beans, Dessert & Drink.
Keosauqua Lions will be serving an all-you-can-eat Pancake, Sausage & Scrambled Egg breakfast on both mornings from 6:30-9:00am in the Keosauqua City Park, which is open to the public. $8 adults, $4 Children ages 5-10, Free for children 0-4.
The Keosauqua Lions Club, First Iowa State Bank & Bickel’s Cycling & Fitness have partnered together again this year to raffle a new Road Bike. Tickets ($5 each or 5/$20) will be for sale during the Lions breakfast on August 17 and again that afternoon at the Pearson House Complex. You do not need to be present, to win the bike. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit various Lions Club projects.

8:30pm- 10:00pm - Lacey- Keosauqua State Park
Join naturalist Brittney Tiller as she leads participants out on the water as she interprets the various constellations and objects of the sky from the calm waters of Lake Lacey. The paddle will begin and end at the boat ramp on the lake in Lacey-Keosauqua State Park. Any participants under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult. There is NO COST for the clinic and canoes are available upon request. Preregistration is required and participation is limited. - AQUATIC LIFE OF THE RIVER ON SATURDAY AUGUST 17
8:00am-10:00am - Bonaparte Boat Ramp
Note: This will be a "side attraction" on the Saturday route.
Ever wondered what is swimming in the river? Now is your chance to find out! Join the State Hygienic Laboratory from the University of Iowa who will use various techniques including electroshocking, to collect and sample the aquatic life of the river. Pre-registration is not required for this FREE program.

Lacey-Keosauqua State Park is open for camping this year! You can find other campgrounds here and lodging facilities here. Van Buren County lodging facilities are limited so book early!
**PLEASE NOTE** This year and for future years, commemorative event T-shirts are ONLY available through EARLY-BIRD PRE-REGISTRATION (cut off July 26th). There will be no extra shirts available after July 26th or at registration, nor will you be able to order one for later delivery.
