Education

Van Buren County Community School District draws its students from Keosauqua, Birmingham, Douds, Cantril, Milton, Stockport, Bonaparte, Farmington, and Hillsboro. The High School & Middle School are located in Keosauqua. There are two Elementary schools. One is located on a rural piece of ground along J40, north of Bonaparte and Farmington, and is the former Harmony High School building, now Harmony Elementary. The other is located in Douds/Leandro.

Van Buren is one of the leading schools in the area with updated computer systems, well-trained staff, remodeled classrooms, a work-study program, and caring faculty all contribute to a 99% graduation rate. For more information, please call the superintendent's office at 319-293-3334.
