A Visit From a Civil War Soldier

Step back in time as the audience is introduced to a returning Civil War soldier, portrayed by Mr. Fargo, in a compelling first-person living-history presentation.

Dressed in full Union Army regalia, Mr. Fargo brings to life the experiences of an Iowa soldier during the Civil War. The program begins with a brief overview of Iowa’s role in the conflict, then transitions into a powerful personal narrative as the “soldier” recounts life before, during, and after the war—from camp life and battles to coming home changed by history.

Throughout the presentation and afterward, audience members are encouraged to ask questions and engage directly with the soldier, who remains fully in character to create an authentic and memorable experience.

The speaker will bring an artifact display and a complete electronic Civil War roster of all men who served in Iowa. It can be searched by name, city, county, and/or birthplace.
