Once a bustling celebration of Van Buren County’s rich agricultural heritage, Sheep Empire Days was a beloved tradition in Keosauqua, Iowa. Held in honor of the area’s deep roots in sheep farming, the event featured parades, sheep-shearing demonstrations, local vendors, live music, and family-friendly fun. Though it no longer takes place, the memories of community spirit and rural pride live on in the hearts of those who attended.
