The Villages Folk School specializes in providing learning experiences in traditional arts and skills while drawing upon the uniqueness of each of the eleven historic Villages of Van Buren County Iowa. Classes are held in peaceful rural settings so students can return to a simpler time and witness the importance of the artisan in village-life. Pre-registration is required for classes.

Join the Eldon Depot for there Annual Hobo Stew and Bake Sale! 

Serving: Stew, cornbread & dessert. Free-will offering and the meal will be carry out only this year.

Friday, October 30th

Keosauqua Chamber Safe Stops - Trunk or Treat: 4:30-5:30pm

Keosauqua: Haunted Hotel Manning: 4:30-6:30pm
Spooktacular games for the little ones will be in the dining area and if you dare to be scared, take a walk through the haunted basement. 

Bonaparte: 5-7pm

Farmington: 5-7pm

Stockport: 5-7pm

Cantril: 5:30-7:30pm

Milton: 5:30-7:30pm

Keosauqua: 6-8pm

Saturday, October 31st

Birmingham: 5-8pm


For those of you planning to be involved with trick-or-treating this year, please follow these few Public Health recommendations for trick-or-treating:

  • Be aware of Social Distancing 
  • Wear Face Coverings
  • Hand out the candy with gloves on, or place candy in a bag or cup instead of letting kids reach into a bowl.
