May 27th » Bonaparte City-Wide Yard Sales and Truck, Trailer, and Trunk SalesMark your calendar for Saturday, May 27th from 9am-4pm for Bonaparte’s City-Wide Yard Sales and their first-ever Truck, Trailer & Trunk Sale! If you have items you want to sell (new or used) and need a place to sell them, then load your items on a trailer, truck, or in your vehicle’s trunk and come down to 1st and Washington Street in Bonaparte, IA. There are three (3) lots behind The Furniture More Store, formerly known as the Odd Fellows Lodge. Bring your own tables or you can sell your items off your trailer, truck, or out of your vehicle’s trunk. The selling of animals will be prohibited! Selling items is open to the public and everyone is welcome! There is NO CHARGE for the usage of the lots. All shops will also be open! If you get hungry while in town, Simply Irresistible carries baked goods and other food items and will be open from 8-4, Bonaparte Retreat will be open for lunch from 11-1 and Jet Stop will be open for food. May 27th - May 28th » Bentonsport Flea Market & Craft ShowBentonsport Historic District will be having its annual Spring Flea Market and Craft Show during Memorial weekend. Observe the local blacksmith and other demonstrations. Wine tasting by Wooden Wheel Vineyards will be there, fresh Amish baked goods (Sat. only) and local honey from the Honey War Bee Company. There will be free horse-drawn covered wagon rides for the family to enjoy, and the shops will be open with antiques, locally made fudge, crafts, pottery, quilting, and Indian Artifact Museum. The park will have food vendors, antiques, wood crafts, natural soaps, lotions, holy whistles, hand-crafted furniture, garden art, and flea market items.
May 27th » Van Buren County Conservation Movie NightNo need to drive to the movie theater! Bring the family out to Lake Sugema Campgrounds. Remember to bring your lawn chair, blankets, and snacks. This movie will be shown at the shelter house near the playground. Bug spray is recommended. Kids 10 and under must be accompanied by a guardian. Registration is encouraged.
