May 31st - Jun 2nd » "Cowboy Fun" Colt Starting Competition

12 trainers will train 4-year-old mares in 4 one hour judged sessions. Watching the progress is amazing, entertaining & educational. Finals on Sunday following Cowboy Church.

Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy a great weekend with vendors, food, dance on Sat., barrel racing, sorting & roping throughout the weekend.

$5 wristband for Campers & $10 for non-campers.

The Villages Folk School specializes in providing learning experiences in traditional arts and skills while drawing upon the uniqueness of each of the eleven historic Villages of Van Buren County Iowa. Classes are held in peaceful rural settings so students can return to a simpler time and witness the importance of the artisan in village-life. Pre-registration is required for classes.

Jun 6th » Des Moines River Water Trail Event

"Rock Hounds Camp"

Turn your child into a Geologist for the day! Rock Hounds will focus on rocks, fossils and end with a creek hike! Thanks to the Iowa DNR Water Trails for their partnership on this program which waives the program registration fee. 3rd-6th grade Van Buren County youth will get first preference for this camp. After May 15th if not filled, it will open up to youth entering 3rd-6th grade in all counties. Camp will be limited to twelve participants.

This is an official Des Moines River Water Trails event cosponsored by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and Jefferson County Conservation. There is no cost for the camp, however, Pre-registration is required.

All you can eat Pancake and Sausage Breakfast served by the Keosauqua Lions. 

Kids (and adults) can frost and decorate FREE airplane shaped sugar cookies.

Register to win a 30-minute airplane ride (to be scheduled at a time of your choosing.) Two winners, need not be present to win.

All pilots flying in, eat FREE!

There is no admission fee for the Fly-in. The public is welcome to attend. Bring your lawn chair!
