Local Churches and Van Buren County residents will be joining the 98 other Iowa counties in reading the Bible out loud throughout the month of June.
Everyone is welcome to join, just choose a book "Genesis to Revelation" read out loud, alone or with others.

Turn your child into a Geologist for the day! Rock Hounds will focus on rocks, fossils and end with a creek hike! Thanks to the Iowa DNR Water Trails for their partnership on this program which waives the program registration fee. 3rd-6th grade Van Buren County youth will get first preference for this camp. After May 15th if not filled, it will open up to youth entering 3rd-6th grade in all counties. Camp will be limited to twelve participants.
This is an official Des Moines River Water Trails event cosponsored by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and Jefferson County Conservation. There is no cost for the camp, however, Pre-registration is required.

A women's all-inclusive trail riding, camping, instructional painting, and enrichment weekend! $85 plus camping fee. Meals provided.
Friday 7-9pm: Donkeys will be numbered up and in pens. People will be able to just ride and a chance for anyone new to get their horses used to the donkey. No admission fee.
Saturday 11am-3pm: Full arena sort. All teams will be drawn, the number of rounds will be determined by the number of people. Teams of 3 people. $15 a person will enter you in all the rounds for the day. You will also need a $5 wristband if you are not camping. Sign up will be 10-10:45am. There will be a Jackpot round at the end of the practice rounds. This will cost $5 a person and each person can enter 3 times.

There will be year-end awards for top 3 teams presented at the final sort for both full arena and sort-n-pen.
Enjoy a Spaghetti dinner with dessert and a western mystery about a handsome scoundrel that comes up missing!
The Sheriff, Bea Lawful Awful has to figure out, with the help of the audience, what, when and who did it.

Join Bloom and Bark for the grand opening of the Glass Blowing & Local Artisan Market! They will be offering Discounts, Drawing for a Giveaway, Refreshments and Drop-in Glassblowing Ornament Making.
No appointment/reservation taken, drop in only, first come first served, $25 for ornament making. Not able to accommodate folks if they show up in synthetic clothing, short shorts and flip flops.
The Keosauqua Farmers Market will have various vendors and even entertainment at times. The market will be held each Tuesday from 4-6pm through October 8, 2019. Watch for further details.
Celebrate Independence Day with vendors set-up throughout downtown 11a-9p, kids games and bounce houses in the park. Parade begins at 5p. Immediately following the parade come enjoy a great BBQ at the Opera House! Serving: brats, burgers, homemade potato, macaroni & pasta salad, cole slaw, baked beans and homemade desserts. $8 per person. Rain or Shine! The day ends with a spectacular fireworks display at dusk!
