Aug 17th » Villages Folk School Classes

The Villages Folk School specializes in providing learning experiences in traditional arts and skills while drawing upon the uniqueness of each of the eleven historic Villages of Van Buren County Iowa. Classes are held in peaceful rural settings so students can return to a simpler time and witness the importance of the artisan in village-life. Pre-registration is required for classes.

Ever wondered what is swimming in the river? Now is your chance to find out! Join the State Hygienic Laboratory from the University of Iowa who will use various techniques including electroshocking, to collect and sample the aquatic life of the river. Pre-registration is not required for this FREE program.

This is an official Lower Des Moines River Water Trail program co-sponsored by the Iowa DNR Water Trails and Jefferson County Conservation.
